Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament helps unite those who are suffering with Jesus' saving and healing power.

In the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, the priest anoints the seriously ill, injured, or the elderly with the oil of the sick. In addition to the anointing, the person is offered Holy Communion.

Anointing often takes places in homes, nursing homes, and hospitals. For example, a person who is going to have surgery may be anointed. The sacrament may be received more than once, such as if a sick person's condition worsens.

Please do contact the parish priest by email or ringing the Parish Office, if you wish to discuss receiving or arranging this for a family member.
